What we actually do.
And what we do not claim.
This page documents our concrete sustainability practices — not aspirations, not pledges. Where something is in progress or not yet implemented, we say so.
Our position on this.
We are a small, young company. We do not have a sustainability team, a carbon offset programme or a verified green certification. We think claiming those things without the substance to back them up is worse than saying nothing.
What we do have is a set of concrete decisions that reduce our environmental footprint — mostly by building things digitally, working remotely and making sensible choices about how we produce and distribute our work.
We will update this page as our practices develop. If something is in progress, we will say in progress. If something is not yet done, we will say not yet.
Concrete actions.
Digital-first distribution
Active
100% of our products and content are distributed digitally. No physical media, no printed materials, no packaging. This is a basic decision, not a sustainability initiative — but it has real impact.
Cloud-based production
Active
All pre-production, planning and collaboration happens through cloud-based tools. Scripts, storyboards and project documentation are digital from the start, not created on paper and digitised later.
Remote-first working
Active
We work remotely by default, which reduces daily commuting and unnecessary travel. When in-person work is needed, we keep it local wherever possible.
Efficient media encoding
Active
We use modern codecs (H.265, AV1) that significantly reduce file sizes without losing quality. Smaller files mean less data transferred, less storage used and less energy consumed.
Local production first
Active
We shoot primarily in the Netherlands. Local production reduces transport, accommodation and logistical overhead — and it tends to produce better work because we are closer to the context.
Renewable energy infrastructure
In progress
We are investigating hosting and production infrastructure that runs on verified renewable energy. This is not confirmed yet — we will update this page when it is.
What we run on.
Hosting & deployment
Anything Platform
Our apps and websites run on Anything. Their infrastructure choices significantly influence our footprint. We are monitoring their sustainability commitments.
Database & storage
Neon (PostgreSQL)
Serverless PostgreSQL with automatic scaling — meaning resources are not consumed when not in use.
Content delivery
CDN networks via Anything
Edge caching reduces data transfer by serving content from locations close to the user.
What we have not done yet.
We have not independently verified the carbon footprint of our operations. We do not currently offset any emissions. We do not have a verified renewable energy commitment for our hosting infrastructure.
Film production — when it involves on-location shooting — has a real physical footprint that digital practices can reduce but not eliminate. We acknowledge that.
These are things we intend to address as the company grows. We will be specific about them when we do.
